AAYGC Highlight - Nicole
Nicole Mayberry
During this pandemic, our youth leaders are still actively volunteering and contributing to our community. In line with this, we would like to take this opportunity to highlight one of them, Nicole Mayberry who was recently crowned Teen Universe Pre-Teen Texas 2020.
Since she won the crown, her platform focuses on raising awareness of animal hunger (food insecurity) and the lack of access to routine veterinary care for animals whose owners have limited food resources of their own.
During her reign, she plans on raising funds to feed pets from food-insecure homes and pets with homeless pet parents. She chose the Rescued Pets Movement (RPM) as her platform partner which is a nonprofit organization focused on providing new beginnings to homeless pets across Houston. They provide a second chance for thousands of homeless dogs and cats by rescuing them from shelters around Greater Houston. They also focus on rehabilitating and fostering the rescued animals and transporting them to their forever homes in communities throughout the United States and Canada that have a demand for adoptable pets.
