YLC Conference & 2018 Check Presentation

AAYGC members, Ethan, Shaurya, Aisha, and Ali attended the Youth Leadership Counci’s (YLC) 30th annual conference and presented a $1,000 grant in support of their work in empowering youth. YLC is an organization founded in 1989 for high school students to develop skills for future leadership. Ethan shared, he had an amazing time during this conference and learned a lot about grit, or in other terms a passion and perseverance for long-term goals. All the mentors were extremely helpful and easy to talk to. During the three day conference, there was always something fun to do such as small group sessions, scavenger hunts, an egg-dropping challenge, and much more! All of the planned activities were great and pushed for teamwork and leadership. Ethan believed all of the students walked away with something new, whether it be new leadership skills, more confidence, or even just a fun time. He looks forward to attending YLC's conference again next year! Thank you YLC and congratulations!
